“Being part of my first Erasmus+ project with Shokkin Group was an amazing experience. The topic of the project was a bit confusing for me in the beginning, as I was not aware of the term “educational escape room”. The possibility to participate helped me start thinking about it and doing my research. The objective for the week was to provide tools to youth workers and educators to tackle radicalization of young people by using educational escape rooms, which were not boring at all!

In this project, I’ve learned about radicalization, escape rooms and their types, and how to build an educational escape room to educate young people through it.

During the week the trainers used very interesting methods, and I loved the energisers that were used often before the start of each session to keep us awake and attentive. Most of the things we’ve learned were actually designed through games e.g team building activity we had was held by playing (kind of) musical chair game.

And the most important part of the project was interpersonal connections between trainers and participants themselves. I always felt like a friend zone in between us, and it helped me ask as many questions as I wanted in order to clear my confusions. Not only trainers but the participants were also really cooperative and open to communication. Especially the teamwork in between every group helped them to achieve their goals.

In the end, I would say the training was really comprehensive and full of fun, even if the routine was a bit tough as we barely got free time! An idea to make it even better would be to extend the training from 7 to 10 days and fit in more social activities to let the participants feel more comfortable with each other.

Shokkin Group rocks, keep doing the good work!
