Description
“Critical Thinkers” is the first training activity of the long-term strategic partnership dedicated to developing blended online and offline educational materials in media literacy, political watchdogging and gamification for youth NGOs, youth workers, educators and young people.
More specifically, this training aims to:
- overview existing critical thinking, media literacy, political watchdogging, and fact-checking tools as well as methods developed through various workshops and lectures by “Skeptical Society” and “Europos namai”.
- train participants in teaching critical thinking, media literacy and conscious participation using interactive and engaging tools and methods.
Participants will have full grasp of the method set, understand what critical thinking, media literacy, watchdogging and fact-checking is and best approaches to teaching it. They will be able to use gained skills in the intellectual outputs’ development stage of the long-term project as well as in the organizations they work in.
Participant’s profile
We are looking for youth workers/leaders, teachers and/or educators interested on the topics of media literacy, critical thinking, watchdogging and fact-checking, and who are motivated to teach them to younger audiences as well as be part of contribute to develop activities in collaboration with Shokkin Group.
Participants should be at least 18 years old, have good level of English, and be willing and committed to actively participate in ALL sessions of the programme. Besides, participants should commit to keep to the deadlines, carry out the preparatory tasks asked for by the organizers, and be willing to follow‐up on the training course in co‐operation with their sending organisation.
