Last May, five lucky participants of the Critical Escape project were able to escape from their life routine to Sweden, to be concrete to a beautiful town in the very heart of Sweden: Örebro. The aim of this trip was to share updates on ready escape rooms of both partners (a very important step of running escape rooms is receiving feedback from participants), gaining new experience in playing escape rooms and the last but not least, having fun and enjoying wonderful spring weather.

Our hosting organization and SGI network partners Awesome People was more than warmly welcoming their guests and a lot of significant and interesting events were planned. Not only was it important to play during the project the finished escape rooms, but also enjoy being in the new city and exploring its beauties. Estonian participants were invited to have a ghost walk in the medieval castle, which was supposed to be scary but turned out to be funny for our experienced participants.

During the trip, participants also visited the Boda borg and Prison island escape rooms. Those are the areas with a lot (up to 120) quests with approximately 2-3 rooms that usually take from 10-60 minutes depending on the complexity of the quest. You are supposed to crawl, climb, jump, bounce, and think your way through cunning traps, intricate riddles, and hidden passages that try to stop your progress. Although sometimes it was quite dangerous, our team escaped those and gathered more experience and ideas for the improvement of project escape rooms.

Two rooms from Estonia and two rooms from Sweden were successfully run in the office of Awesome people. The feedback game masters got from the participants will definitely play an important role and will help to improve the escape rooms. Now, our plan is to travel with the Estonian escape rooms all over Estonia during summer and educate youth in important topics by playing and experiencing them!
