Description:
Storytelling is the perfect platform upon which to unite youth and elderly. Elderly need storytelling for the purpose of telling their stories for companionship, as well as to preserve their cultural identity. Youth, on the other hand, need to develop their storytelling competences as it is
as an essential professional skill for employability.
The main aim of the youth exchange “Back 2 the Future” is to foster intergenerational cooperation between 30 youth youth from Spain, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Estonia and between rural elderly from the region of Galicia, Spain, all through the art of storytelling.
Participant’s profile:
This youth exchange is targeted at youngsters between the ages of 18-30 years old (except for the group leader of each national group, for whom there is no age limit) who are interested in learning more about intergenerational collaboration, rural realities, and the preservation of cultures and storytelling.
Motivation and willingness to implement future activities/events with the sending organization will be one of the key factors for selection.
We will accept participants under the age of 18 if they show their motivation. Participants are expected to speak English well enough to allow for smooth communication, and be willing and committed to actively participate in ALL sessions.
It is preferable if at least one member from each international team has some kind of photography or film experience. Professional video-making experience is not required.
