Description
Young people should be playing a key role in social innovation initiatives as they have the ability to look from a fresh point of view on their surroundings and societal needs. The support they often require is structuring ideas, critically looking at them and shaping them into a presentable form which is often required by authorities. However, this is the point where for many young people it becomes too much and too boring to make professional presentations, to fill out analysis and forms to promote their idea. Visual thinking can help youth workers to support young people into shaping ideas into attractive formats with a structure and logic when it comes to presenting ideas to authorities.
“Visual Dreamers: the use of visual thinking & facilitation in youth work” will be an international training course which will take place in Scanzano Jonico (Italy) during the period 13th-20th April, 2019 gathering 31 participants from Italy, Spain, Denmark, Estonia, Poland, Lithuania, Greece, Malta and Germany.
Participant’s profile:
This training course is designed for youth workers, youth leaders and educators who work directly with young people on a frequent basis. Participants should have strong will to participate in an intense training course (around 8 working hours) equipping them with visual tools and techniques to be used with young people and promote their civil involvement.
Ideally, participants are active members or employees of the partner organization or their local partner. Participants have to be official residents in the country partnering in the project, be above 18 years of age, have a good command of English language, be ready to participate in the full program and commit to the dissemination activities. Besides, participants should keep to the deadlines and carry out the preparatory tasks asked for by the organizers.
