Description

“LEAD: Leadership Exploration and Development” will be an international Erasmus+ training course organized by MUYA Malta. The main activity of the project will take place in Dingli (Malta) during the period 25th August-2nd September 2019, including 30 participants from Malta, Estonia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Kosovo, Latvia, Germany, Ukraine and Lithuania.

A training course which aims to provide participants with space to develop their leadership competence set for being an effective group leader at youth exchange projects.

Main objectives
– To foster mutual understanding of the group leader’s role and responsibilities in a youth exchange project throughout the whole project cycle;
– To equip participants with a set of tools for preparation, follow-up and evaluation sessions with groups of youth;
– To equip participants with a set of tools for implementation of non-formal learning sessions, reflection and support of young people during a youth exchange project;
– To exchange best practices and develop ways of working with difficult situations, specific target groups and taking up an inclusive approach as a group leader;
– To empower participants to take up a group leader’s role in an international youth exchange;
– To give space to develop at least 4 future cooperation projects that will enable participants to apply received learning;
– To develop a group leader’s support manual for individuals and organizations to use in their support work with current and potential group leaders;

Participant’s profile:

The ideal participant for the training course is envisioned as a full member of the partner organization or it’s close local partner institution (youth centre, school, social centre) being a certified youth worker or a passionate youth leader who works on a frequent basis with young people and according to the sending organization has potential interest in being a group leader and prepare future group leaders.
The participants should be interested in raising his/her level of competences as a leader, facilitator and ultimately group leader at youth exchanges, being ready to share own experiences, being motivated to experiment and contribute to the physical outcomes and transfer gained knowledge in the organisation. Additionally she/he should have at least intermediate level of English, be in the age
above 18 and hold a residency in the country participating in the project.
