An international training course about educational board games and game-based learning in youth work.
Objectives
- To introduce game-based learning and gamification for youth workers/youth leaders to incorporate in own work;
- To discuss youth trends in participant countries and extract current learning needs from participants’ working experience with youth;
- To explore board games and their possible adaptation to serve as educational tools;
- To introduce board games as a tool for involvement of young people and explore successful examples of the use of board games in youth work;
- To equip participants with methods for idea development and learning design that is transferable to socially relevant topics;
Participant’s profile
“EDUBOARDZ” will include 30 youth workers and youth leaders from 9 countries including Malta, Estonia, Romania, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland, Spain and Lithuania.
Participants will not be required to have any sort of previous experience with international programmes, but they must be in a position of daily work with children and/or youngsters (youth leader/youth worker) and will be highly motivated to engage in future actions connected to educational games and social topics together with their sending organizations.
Participants are expected to have a good level of English that will allow smooth communication and be willing and committed to actively participate in ALL sessions. Besides, participants should commit to keep to the deadlines, carry out the preparatory tasks asked for by the organizers and be willing to follow‐up on the youth exchange in co‐operation with their sending organisation (implementation of a dissemination event after the TC in collaboration with Shokkin Group will be a must).
