Description
“ReCalibur” is a long-term educational programme that aims at exploring and testing the applicability of approaches, tools and techniques inspired by the field of ecopsychology and creative expression in youth work.
The second training course of the project, “Youth Community Engagement through Outdoor Education” will take place in Taevaskoja (Estonia) from 17th to 25th of July, and it will look specifically at interacting with nature and the use of outdoor education and nature-based learning.
The semi-outdoor training will equip participants with nature-based tools to be used directly with young people in the context of youth work and education in order to foster their personal development and develop stronger community bonds.
- In the first part of the training (indoors), participants will learn how to practically prepare for an outdoor educational activity with a group of people.
- Then they will immerse themselves in a 3-night outdoor expedition during which they will explore how to utilize the potential of natural outdoor contexts for individual and collective development processes.
- The last part of the training (again indoors) will be dedicated to reflecting on how the methods worked and how they can be applied further in participants’ local communities with their target groups.
