This edition of Shokkin Kamp was all about stepping outside your comfort zone. Over two days in Kloogaranna Puhkeküla, participants explored what confidence really means, learned how to communicate more effectively, practised improvisation, and discovered practical ways to stay calm when facing stressful situations.
Shokkin Kamp brings together young people who are eager to learn, connect, and grow through non-formal education. Each Kamp offers a different theme, but the goal remains the same: creating an environment where everyone feels supported to try something new, challenge themselves, and learn from one another.
The programme started with activities that helped everyone get comfortable with each other. Instead of jumping straight into workshops, participants spent time getting to know the group, building trust, and creating an atmosphere where speaking up felt easier from the very beginning.
As the sessions progressed, the focus shifted towards communication and self-confidence. Through interactive games, improvisation exercises, and practical speaking challenges, participants practised expressing their ideas, thinking on the spot, and speaking in front of others. Rather than aiming for perfect presentations, the emphasis was on gaining confidence through experience and discovering that making mistakes is a natural part of learning.
Another important part of the programme explored how people react under pressure. Working in teams, participants completed challenges that required clear communication, cooperation, and patience. Afterwards, the group reflected on what happened during the activities, discussing what helped them stay focused and how they could respond more calmly in similar situations in everyday life.
Of course, the Kamp wasn’t only about workshops. Every day, participants headed to the beach to swim in the Baltic Sea, play volleyball, and enjoy spending time together outdoors. These informal moments became just as valuable as the sessions themselves, helping friendships grow naturally and giving everyone time to recharge.
The second day continued with new practical activities that encouraged participants to take initiative and support one another. Whether speaking in front of the group, reacting to unexpected scenarios, or solving challenges together, everyone had the opportunity to practise skills that can be useful far beyond the Kamp.
Reflection remained an essential part of the experience. Participants looked back at the weekend, shared moments they were proud of, talked openly about the challenges they had overcome, and recognised how much their confidence had grown in just two days.
By the end of the Kamp, many participants left feeling more comfortable speaking in front of others, more willing to embrace uncertainty, and more confident in their ability to stay calm when things don’t go as planned.Thank you to everyone who brought curiosity, courage, and positive energy to this weekend. Your willingness to support one another and step outside your comfort zones made this Shokkin Kamp a memorable experience.
