“We Are All Timebankers” youth exchange took place in Pontevedra (Spain) from 8th until 16th of May, 2019. During this time, we learned a lot about timebank basics, performed lots of workshops and played games that were not only fun and interesting, but were an educational source. It was the very first project of mine, and the very first time in Spain, so even before the arrival to Pontevedra I was already excited about the event.

People from five countries (Spain, Greece, Portugal, Estonia and Slovenia) gathered not to only become timebankers, but also to share their culture. This multicultural point was the main thing that made the project something special. I met new people, made new friends and revised my priorities: time is the most valuable thing, we should go away from a classical circulation of money as it out of date, we need to focus on sharing our time, not money. I want to thank all the organizers who made that project possible to be held, you guys made the very important and good job. Looking forward for the new events, knowledge and people!

Keep the traditions!

From the first day of the project, as I saw in our schedule, I was pleasantly surprised, because we could not only communicate and share something new among ourselves, but also with local youth, invited guests and even residents of this small town. We spent an unforgettable day celebrating the day of Europe in one of the schools of Pontevedra. The pupils of the school made a pleasant impression on me because they were so sincerely trying to make everything work and that our stay there would be as comfortable as possible. I really liked this project and I am happy that I had a chance to participate in it because, thanks to such emotions and knowledge, I want and can continue to share experience with the local youth of my city.

In may 2019 I had the chance to participate in an Erasmus+ youth exchange about timebanks. The main objective is to use non-formal education and dialogue and intercultural exchange to provide participants with practical tools to encourage the active youth participation. Despite having participated in youth exchanges and training courses before, the methods and activities were all different and new for me. The trainers and participants were flexible with the timetable and activities had a good synergy. The group dynamic was overall good. I got to know a lot about timebanks and how to create one in my work scene. Youth exchanges and training courses gives you the opportunity to be more mindful and considerate about others and to learn from their perspectives.

If I talk about experience, I would like to say that it was the lifetime experience ever. We performed as a team with the different objectives and different goals, we supported each other through non-formal learning activities. I understand by attending this project how we can invest and share time with the people and how it really affects the society which will eventually grow and develop together. Being timebankers, we are the ones who are change makers and I think we have enough skills after attending this project to make a difference in the society and let it develop.
