Description

This training course is connected to educational game design and game facilitation to address social topics such as migration, inter-cultural understanding, inter-religious dialogue, tolerance, anti-discrimination. The training programme will support youth workers/youth leaders to get inspired and create new games that can be used when working with youth and enrich their own toolbox. Be ready to create games!

Target group of this project will be 32 youth workers and active members of European youth organizations coming from Germany, Estonia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Romania, Greece, Poland, Malta, Spain and Italy.

Objectives

  • To discuss a game as an educational tool and get to know various examples;
  • To give participants tools for identifying learning needs of their target group;
  • To equip participants with tools for educational and experiential game design;
  • To create a set of educational games on social issues;
  • To test created games and exchange feedback for future improvement.

Participant’s profile:

This training course is targeted at youth workers & youth leaders aged 18+ (active members of organizations, communities who work with young people & are involved in activities carried out by sending organizations). Ideally, participants should be in a position of daily working with youngsters, either voluntarily or professionally. Participants should have good command of English language, be willing and committed to work through the whole main activity (about 8 hours per day) and willing to share the new knowledge with the members of his/her organization once they get back.

Participants should be motivated to carry out any preparatory task asked for by the organisers, and be willing to follow‐up on the training course in co‐operation with their sending organisation (implementation of a dissemination event after the TC in collaboration with Shokkin Group will be a must). It is crucial that participants are interested and open to learn and later implement new learning tools and methods.
