The training course involved youth workers & boardmembers of youth organizations from Estonia, Turkey, Spain, Latvia, Sweden, Denmark, Cyprus, Romania, Norway, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal and Poland. The training course aimed to further develop competences of project coordinators who are responsible for participants selection, evaluation of their learning and involvement of youth leaders in local youth work.
The training course equipped participants with tools, approaches and also new perspective gained from others on the way the organization handles selection of participants, preparation of participants and their future involvement in the work of the NGO. During the week participants had time to learn from each other, to share their fails, share successes & also have some productive time away from their homes dedicated only at developing their NGO and thinking outside of the box in order to grow the organization.
So what was the week like? It was great! When you get 30 people dedicated to youth work, to NGO development then the word „productive“ gains a totally new meaning. So much has been done during the week – ideas for guerilla marketing campaigns, rebranding ideas, ideas for optimizing project management, new kind of participant’s cycle, approaches to partnership, tens of new project ideas and tens of new approaches to youth involvement is only a part of the content based results of the training course.
When you get 30 people with a serious approach to their NGO’s, what happens to the fun factor? It becomes even stronger! A training course with so many funny stories, with so much humor, many great evenings battling in „Just Dance“, guitar songs and freestyles, snowball fights, sauna challenges, Dixit games, intercultural evening improvisation, walks and talks in the national park and much more…
Here at Shokkin Group Estonia we are proud of, what we believe, was the strongest training course we hosted (so far!). The results are inevitable, organizations will grow, cooperation will strengthen & more things will be achieved! It’s time to work on the after-TC materials & make something useful for all NGO’s around (the booklet on NGO development will come soon!)
P.S. We even held a Shokkin Core meeting yesterday, where we started to work on the new strategy of member involvement and core structure.
P.P.S. We would like to thank all the partners who managed to get time and come to the training course in snowy Estonia, those local partners who helped us to prepare some great materials & of course Estonian National Agency, who supported us during the preparation stage of the training course.
