The “MediaWise” Training Course was an inspiring Erasmus+ project that brought together youth workers, educators, and changemakers from Estonia, Latvia, Romania, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Spain. The training focused on media literacy, digital storytelling, and critical thinking in today’s fast-moving information age. Throughout the week, we explored how media shapes the way we see the world – and how we, in turn, can engage with it more consciously and creatively to empower young people in our communities.

MediaWise was such an eye-opening experience for me. I gained a deeper understanding of how media influences us and learned practical tools to bring media literacy into my youth work. The group energy was amazing – so many inspiring people from different countries, all eager to share and learn.

One activity that I found especially meaningful was when we collaborated to create a workshop about how AI shapes media and how to use it responsibly. It was exciting to explore such a current and important topic with the team, and it showed me how relevant media education is for young people today.

Our trip to Brno was also a great chance to connect more deeply with everyone outside of the training sessions. Exploring the city’s beautiful streets, sharing meals, and visiting local landmarks gave us a relaxed space to build friendships and learn from each other’s cultures. I left feeling motivated, connected, and ready to take action in my local community.”

“I am glad that this project covered not only the media literacy topic, but also a lot of psychology behind information consumption and decision making. I can say, coming back, that many activities gave me some insights and perspectives on the things I knew before, besides also being very fun.

I am also very satisfied with the quality of group members, since the experience of different group members covered a vast area of fields, ranging from teaching in state high schools and organizing corporate trainings to professional SMM, SEO and using AI tools that have been developed less than three years ago. I found that I had a lot of things to talk about with fellow participants and got to connect with many.”

After this amazing MediaWise experience, we’re excited to put all the new knowledge and skills into practice in our own communities. Many of us are already planning workshops, creating new content, or weaving media literacy into the youth projects we’re passionate about. This training didn’t just teach us tools – it inspired us, connected us, and gave us a real boost to keep growing and sharing. Because at the end of the day, we truly believe that when young people are informed, they’re empowered to make a difference.
