Last April, our former member Liza decided to explore new life bubbles with a two-month ESC volunteering experience in Barcelona (Catalunya). Now that her stay is slowly coming to an end, we asked her to share with us some insights of her life in Spain during this period:

“Hi! My name is Liza and at the moment I am a volunteer on a cultural management project in the social association TUDANZAS. These two months were busy and full of different experiences!

In April we were organising a social arts festival lasting for 4 days with 30 volunteers from different countries and it was a fantastic, warm and exciting experience. Now I am engaged in various activities of the association, like content creation and management, design, Erasmus+ and ESC promotion, communication, and marketing.

Also other things like gardening in the community garden, performing or helping with other artistic projects. Daily, I work in the office and on other activities, for example: ‘Rutas Invisibles’ – a project about sharing stories of migrants in an artistic way (we just had a performance yesterday); ‘Laboratories of dance and creation’, playing and dancing with children, etc.

Sometimes it is hard, not going to lie, but in the end I feel like it’s such a wonderful opportunity to connect with art and culture and I am happy I have it. I am thankful to Shokkin Group for supporting me on this journey ❤️.”
