The long-term project “Gamify+” continues its course, this time with another international training course hosted in Brno (Czech Republic) from the 20th to the 25th of November 2024, where our colleagues Darina and Emilia represented Shokkin Group:

“During this Gamify+ meeting in Brno we spent a lot of time writing out the rules of the hybrid game we are creating, as well as filling in content gaps, communication with the app developer and testing the rough product. We were making final changes to the game mechanics and characters, discussing details around the logic in the application part of the game and making sure the battle elements were balanced. We all agreed that even though this is an educational game, it still needs to feel fun and fair.

I always enjoy taking part in this project, it is a pleasure to reunite with the team and pick up where we left off. It’s wonderful to see the progress we’ve made over the last almost a year. My role this time was mainly rulebook writing and testing, as well as a lot of communication with the team and developer to make sure everyone is on the same page. The free time after working all day was wonderful as always – playing games and joking around. Waiting to meet the guys again and for the day we see a final complete product.

This meeting was incredibly important as it gave us the space to discuss a lot of very important aspects of the game and make sure all the details are in line. If everything goes according to plan, in the next few months we can start testing and slowly go to the public with our game.”

Darina

“The project, although being a bit unfamiliar from what I experienced before, gave me a better understanding and insight about boardgame and app creation. We were taught on how AI can be a great tool for storytelling and character design aspects, and I discovered a few new tools that I can possibly implement in my work. We completed different tasks with the team and eventually played the prototype of the boardgame – I was impressed with how it all came together from scratch. It was very valuable to join the team on their project and observe as much as possible, but also have hands-on experiences.”
