The long-term project “Gamify+” continues its course, this time with another international training course hosted in Brno (Czech Republic) from the 17th to the 24th of August 2024.

During this meeting, participants focused on the digital aspect of educational games – music, game books, visuals, storytelling and how to use different video game mechanics. They also worked on further developing the prototype of the hybrid game on media literacy, so that it can be passed to the programmer, who will turn the ideas into a usable web application, which, in combination with the physical elements, will become the final hybrid game.

The best thing about these projects are the people and the friendly, supportive atmosphere.

“Nearing the end of the Gamify+ project, I can surely say that I have become incredibly invested in the work we do and the final product. This training in Brno was an incredible roller-coaster of creativity, logic and teamwork. It has been a delight to collaborate with such a wonderful group and I am so proud of all we have done so far. I can see so much potential in this hybrid game we are creating and can’t wait for the day it will be ready to be shared with a wider public. Last but not least, it’s impossible not to mention our endless boardgame evenings and great conversations. The best thing about these projects are the people and the friendly, supportive atmosphere.”

“This last module of the project has been fulfilling. The game is well advanced, the plain prototype is there, and I like it. I consider that the objective of designing an educational game based on media literacy has been accomplished. The teamwork, due to the several previous working meetings, is well organized and knowing each other has been a wonderful experience. Brno is a beautiful city and visiting it in winter and summer has been very interesting. I’m looking forward to finalising the project.”

“The horizontal approach of learning, where you learn peer-to-peer, was definitely novel for me, and that’s why I am intrigued by what the last meeting of the project has in store for us.”

“As someone who has joined the project only at its late stage, I was inspired by how good of a teamplayer everyone else already was. It took me some time to get into the working flow, but, ultimately, I was able to contribute as much as the others, and to gain valuable experience, too. I am very excited to see what the final product of our hard work looks like.

For me, first and foremost, new connections were made with people that have the skills and qualities I am looking for in people to collaborate with for future youth projects. Also, the “horizontal” approach of learning, where you learn peer-to-peer, was definitely novel for me, and that’s why I am intrigued by what the last meeting of the project has in store for us.”
