“Overall, the Game Zone contact-making event was a delightful and enlightening experience for me. I enjoyed exploring the different games used in education across various countries. The activities organised by the facilitators were well-structured, effectively encouraging us participants to collaborate, discuss, and share our ideas and experiences.

I particularly appreciated the valuable feedback from educators on the video game that I worked on, which has helped to enhance it and better meet its intended educational objectives.

My stay at the Vanaõue Puhkekeskus was comfortable, and I found the cultural nights and tour of Tallinn with everyone truly enriching. I look forward to staying in touch and hopefully collaborating to advocate for game-based Learning in the future.”

“Game Zone was my first Erasmus+ event, so I did not have many/any expectations. The event held by Shokkin turned out to be surprisingly awesome. The group of people who attended were all nice, friendly and open minded. It was pleasure to have conversations and work together with them.

I liked international evenings, especially when we had to act out various stories or finding interesting facts about other countries. My favourite educational games were ‘Pitch Perfect’ and ‘The Game of Life’, though I really enjoyed other showcased games as well.

I look forward to hearing from the project my group discussed. Overall, I believe that Shokkin did a great job at hosting this event. If Shokkin organises more events I will look forward to those events as well!”

This event left me excited about games in general. I have realized that it is not like I don’t like playing video/board games with other people, it is just that I haven’t found the right group of friends in my daily life to play games with. Some of the other participants opened my eyes on the teambuilding potential that games have, especially video games. Being a geek is cool!

I’d like to try the idea of one of the Spanish participants to use the FATE role playing game system as a way to create incentive for the players to independently study certain topics as preparation for their role in a campaign.

Hosting a project meant for grown and independent adults in my home country made for minimal amounts of stress for me, because I myself didn’t have to travel far, and the participants didn’t require much help to feel comfortable at the venue. Still though, I was happy to help, even if it was with the smallest of things! My key learning moment was to make sure to communicate more clearly with my team, even when I think they already understand my train of thought.

I’d love to someday meet with some of the international participants again and maybe just play games with them. Also, I feel I’ve got to know the Estonian team at the event a bit better and I’d love to keep our friendship going, because they are all lovely people.”
