On 16th of October we hosted the Edugame (Un)conference, a hands-on evening where more than 40 educators, youth workers and organisation leaders explored how games can support learning and meaningful conversations with young people.

Over the past two years, our international team created and tested 12 educational games on topics such as media literacy, bullying, financial literacy and global citizenship. These tools, now available in eight languages, have already reached 1470+ young people across six countries.

A Playful Game Discovery Fair

After a short project introduction, participants entered a free-flow Game Discovery Fair, where they could try:

  • quick setup card games,
  • immersive LARPs,
  • portable escape boxes, and
  • more demanding full-group escape rooms.

The room quickly filled with teamwork, storytelling and lots of laughter, showing exactly why games work so well in education.

Insights & Exchange

We wrapped up with a group discussion on:

  • which topics need more educational games,
  • what professionals expect from game-based tools, and
  • the skills games should help develop.

A small raffle closed the formal part, followed by relaxed networking and idea-sharing.

Strong Participation

Representatives from 20+ institutions joined us, many leaving with concrete plans to use the games in their youth centres, lessons, or community activities. New collaborations and testing opportunities are already emerging.

So, what’s next? Inviting you all to download the Edugame games and materials at playversity.co!
A big thank you to everyone who joined and to all the Edugame partners for building this toolbox together. Once again, we proved that learning through play is not only effective, it’s inspiring.
