“I have learned a lot from this training course, as this experience was totally different for me. I had never attended any non-formal education training, so I really enjoyed the fact that we can learn so much with a more practical approach instead of theoretically. I found this way more interesting and effective.
Starting from the day first when we landed in Malta, it was already a totally different experience, also brought by the Maltese shine and warmth when summer had almost ended in Estonia. The training team was very professional and I was surprised how professionally Carmen and Pavel delivered the course, the amazing presentation of visuals (hats off to Olalla) and the techniques adopted to deliver the messages to the participants was superb.
In the starting days we learned how educational boards games work and then in the last days we were able to design a new game and it became possible only because of the good training. I would also appreciate the MUYA team for all the arrangements, especially Bernard and Thelma because I can imagine how hard it was to manage everything.”

“‘Eduboardz’ in Malta was the first adventure for me to attend and experience non-formal education activities with a diverse group of youth leaders and highly qualified trainers who rendered their marvelous skills.
Initially it wasn’t trouble-free to understand the sense of different board games since I didn’t take that interest in such games. However, for three days we learned about educational board games, its mechanics, creation process and how hierarchically these are composed while applying different components and strategies.
The main task for the week was to create our own game. In the case of my group, composed of four people, we had to prepare a game on soft skills, more specifically on self-confidence. In the beginning it was a tough thing to stick to an idea because the four of us were quite different in our sense of ideation. It took quite a hard time but finally we made it and even tested it with other participants.
What I have learned personally meant a lot for my life. Firstly, it gave me a chance of introspection while composing the questions for self-confidence. I prcaticed teamwork and accepting others’ ideas, and increased my ability to create a stable interaction with others having different cultural backgrounds. After attending this program I personally feel so fresh, motivated, and confident and I wish to conduct such wonderful training for other youngsters.
I am greatly obliged to Shokkin Group for bestowing me such a life-changing chance where I could cater my abilities and embellish the skills on a broader level.”

“During “Eduboardz” we learnt about game-based learning, gamification and youth learning needs to create our own educational board game. It was my first experience with board games, but I felt comfortable discovering how it works.
We had sessions where I learnt about the mechanics, design and how to make a game educational. We worked on our
projects in small groups, divided by the main theme of the game. It was great that in my team we had different points of views on how the game should look. I enjoyed working and developing my game with my teammates. When we had some troubles during the process, trainers helped and guided us.
Besides making games, we also had fun activities where we could also share our experience with other participants. The coolest part was when we could finally test our games and play all evening long. Despite the fact that games had some aspects to work on, I enjoyed it a lot. Now when the project is over, I have some games to print and play with my friends, which is awesome! After my experience creating my own board game, I will never look at board games the way I did before, because now I slightly know how they can be made!
