Shokkin Group was happy to host the kick-off meeting for our newest adventure, CIVIKO, in Tallinn from December 9-11. This project is dedicated to designing an innovative educational game on democracy and launching campaigns to promote active and democratic participation among young people across Europe.

What Happened at the Kick-Off?

The meeting brought together representatives from all 5 partner organizations.

  • Getting to know each other: Partners had the chance to learn more about each other’s work and portfolios.
  • Project planning: We refreshed and refined the ambitious 2-year project plan.
  • Administrative foundations: Key administrative questions and necessary groundwork were discussed.

Sharing Our Expertise

Despite the work-oriented agenda, we used the opportunity to introduce the work we do at Shokkin Group, sharing some of our existing educational games.

The kick-off set the stage for a two-year period that will be full of diverse and impactful activities. We hope that this meeting laid a strong foundation for a collaborative journey ahead.

So keep your eyes wide open and get ready to play!

More about CIVIKO

Beyond Borders in collaboration with Shokkin Group, Go Alive, KOM 018, Teatro Metaphora, and CODEC is launching a bold and playful mission: CIVIKO — a European project that transforms democratic participation into a game-changing experience for young people!

What’s it all about?
The project aims to boost youth democratic participation through innovative educational tools — most notably a brand-new board game that makes learning about democracy exciting, interactive, and fun!

What will we do?

  • Create tools that make democratic education more inclusive and accessible
  • Train youth workers across Europe in using games for civic learning
  • Raise awareness about youth participation through playful, creative campaigns
  • Promote active citizenship in local communities

The project is implemented between 01.11.25 & 31.10.27 in Italy, Estonia, Greece, Serbia, Portugal and Belgium. It is co-financed by the European Union.
